To enjoy a one-week vacation in Florida was part of our bucket list for 2015. My family was excited to unwind, hang out at the beach and indulge in tons of delicious seafood. Our friends back home recommended The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House because of the scrumptious food and the beautiful view. When we arrived at Panama City Beach, we headed to the restaurant right away since it was close to twelve noon already.

The entrance of Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House was somewhat cramped but it showed the day’s catch and where they were caught which made my children more excited. They love all sorts of fishes! I surveyed the interior of the restaurant for a good spot and the waiter suggested we take the outdoor tables which were overlooking a scenic view of the beach nearby. My husband thought it was perfect. The sea breeze was blowing and the white sand beach was inviting. We ordered Calamari and Firecracker Shrimp as my bestfriend suggested. I personally found the calamari good but it was not as good as our favorite in New England. The shrimp was a clear winner and I was just happy to see my kids munching the juicy meat. My Mahi Mahi order was overcooked but still delicious. It was Dave, my husband, and my 9-year old who tried the New York Strip with Alaskan Snow Crab Legs which was amazing! The order came with crispy fried chicken which my 1 and a half year old son enjoyed. Of course for dessert, we wanted something extra special. Indeed, we were beyond satisfied with the Ultimate Chocolate Cake. It was mouth-watering to say the least and we had to bring home a big portion because it was huge.

The Back Porch Seafood was great and we enjoyed the excellent service. We loved the fun atmosphere and it made our first lunch in Panama City Beach memorable. We found the food a bit pricey but it’s good to indulge once in a while. My entire family gives it a score of 7 out of 10!
